'Ma Ben', mijn chinese naam, is een bewerkt dagboekfragment gemaakt in China. 'Ma Ben' betekent het vliegende paard en is een bronzen verheerlijking van het paard uit de Ferghana, het westen. Het westen lag voor de chinezen ver buiten hun eigen 'horizon', zij waren immers het centrum van de wereld. Op de achtergrond van de tekening staan twee enorme voeten. Het zijn de fragmenten van de Boeddha, uit de Mògão grotten, die mede dankzij het paard in China werd verbreid....
